Sites for Lockdown Woods Revealed

The Lockdown Woods project is delighted to be able to announce the locations of our first three Lockdown Woods! These will be planted during this winter with saplings donated by the Woodland Trust and our own baby trees.

The largest site, about two acres, is Westbrook Down, adjacent to Hungerford Marsh. Our flagship wood in Newbury is the western part of Goldwell Park, near Northcroft recreation centre, about 1 acre. We will be planting a slightly smaller area in Barn Crescent, Wash Common, where we will also be helping to expand the Community Orchard there.

We look forward to welcoming you to our planting and ceremony events. The dates will be announced as soon as they are finalised.
