Goldwell Park Site Planted!

We are excited to announce our flagship Lockdown in Goldwell Park, Newbury was planted out last weekend in the beautiful sunshine by our fantastic volunteers and with the help from the Town Council. We planted out the site consisting of over 250 new saplings over the course of two days, joined on the first day by Sovereign Housing, GreenGym and The Navigator Team, an environmental company that has recently moved to the area. On the second day, we were joined by over 30 members of the public of all ages, to plant their own saplings using canes and mulch mats to support the growth of the new trees.

A special thankyou to Elizabeth O'Keefe, our town mayor, and Laura Farris, our local MP, for attending the event.

If you are local to Goldwell Park, and would be interested in the ongoing maintenance of the site, perhaps on your daily dog walk, please do get in touch!

Once again, a big congratulations to everyone who took part in the planting and especially to the chief organiser, Susan Millington, for putting the event together. Check out our full coverage in Newbury Today!
