About The Event

West Berkshire Council has given us permission to plant them on

Stroud Green and our community tree planting weekend is 6 and 7 November,

from 10am to 1pm each day. We will be in the south east sector of the Green,

beyond the children’s play area.

Make sure we know you're coming by registering your sapling on our get involved page. No need to book a slot, just turn up anytime between 10am and 1pm with your

sapling(s). Please check before coming that it is at least 0.5m in height (from the soil

surface), and is healthy. The council tree officers confirmed we can plant ash

saplings there, if you have one of these.

Please bring:

 Your sapling/s (labelled in ink with species please)

 Gardening gloves

 Spade, mallet if you have one

 Large container of water to water it once planted.

We will provide you with stakes, a range of tree guards, mulch mats and mycorrhizal

fungi to help the young woodland establish a ‘wood wide web’. Also some daffodil and crocus bulbs to plant around your tree if you like!

If you need any help, then

1. Go to our FB group where you can request assistance

from the Lockdown Woods community.

2. Otherwise, contact the team via our website

Parking – there is very limited street parking around Stroud Green. The Halfords /

Burger King car park is probably your best bet, it’s free for 2 hours. If your sapling

pot is very heavy, you can probably offload it in Greenham Rd alongside the Green,

then move your car to the car park.

We look forward to welcoming you in Stroud Green on 6 or 7 November, and

planting the fourth Lockdown Wood together! (Information about the first three is on

our Facebook page and website).
